Participating Observation | emic at its best
The most emic perspective is obtained when the researcher takes the position of the respondent. With this method, we attempt to get as close to the respondents by partaking her/his schedule of the day, including the necessary traditional practices and customs. In this manner, trust will gain level, and in this comfort zone, interesting, often unexpected but significant insights will prevail.
Narrative Approach | we are all ears
A few non-structured key questions allow the respondent to do her/his story in her/his own way. It often reveals much more information than answers acquired through fixed questionnaires.
Single Interviews | gaining the best of one
One-on-one interviews offer focused and in-depth insights on the given issue. It is most suitable when it concerns personal matters. They may be taken at a neutral assigned location or in a respondent's comfort zone.
Group Interviews | togetherness brings force
Some topics are best to discuss in group relations, as it leads to interesting comments, reactions and interaction, which otherwise may not reveal. They normally take place at a convenient neutral assigned location.
Focus Group Discussions (FGD) | recapture the essences
This service often applies in addition to single interviews, after which the main patterns of answers will be re-discussed in a group set-up for deeper insights.
Online Questionnaires | the comfort of at home research-participation
When it is logistically not possible to meet the respondents in person, this service offers the ease for them to submit their input nevertheless.
